Overdosering kan coma\/dood veroorzaken \u2013 naloxon kan dit omkeren.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Niet gebruiken met<\/strong>Alcohol, kalmeringsmiddelen, andere opio\u00efden (bijv. tramadol), MAO-remmers, of bij acute astma\/COPD.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Zwangerschap\/Borstvoeding<\/strong>Vermijden (komt in de moedermelk terecht, risico op sedatie bij pasgeborenen).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Rijden<\/strong>: Vermindert de werking; vermijd gebruik totdat de effecten bekend zijn.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Symptomen van een overdosis<\/strong>Bij vernauwde pupillen, verwardheid of blauwe lippen, bel de hulpdiensten.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Beschikbaarheid en regelgeving<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Uitsluitend op recept verkrijgbaar<\/strong>\u00a0In de meeste landen (bijv. VK, VS, Australi\u00eb). Niet vrij verkrijgbaar vanwege de status als opio\u00efde.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Specificaties voor het VK<\/strong>Formulering volgens de BP (British Pharmacopoeia): \u201cCodeine Linctus BP 15 mg\/5 mL\u201d.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Alternatieven<\/strong>Dextromethorfan (bijv. Robitussin DM) voor hoestverlichting zonder opio\u00efden; guaifenesine als slijmoplossend middel.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Straatmisbruik<\/strong>Soms wordt het misbruikt voor een euforisch gevoel (\"lean\" met frisdrank), maar pure linctus is verdund.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Bewijs en bronnen<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Ondersteund door de NICE-richtlijnen (VK) voor kortdurende hoestonderdrukking.<\/li>\n<li>Onderzoeken (bijv.
