Dit kortwerkende centraal zenuwstelselonderdrukkende middel werkt door de activiteit van gamma-aminoboterzuur (GABA) te versterken. GABA is een neurotransmitter die overmatige hersenactiviteit kalmeert, wat een ontspannend en angstverminderend effect heeft. De dosering van 0,5 mg wordt vaak gebruikt, zowel voor de initi\u00eble behandeling als voor de verdere behandeling.<\/p>\n<h3 dir=\"auto\">Wat is alprazolam 0,5 mg?<\/h3>\n<p dir=\"auto\">Alprazolam behoort tot de benzodiazepinegroep. Het is verkrijgbaar als tabletten met onmiddellijke afgifte (waaronder smelttabletten), tabletten met verlengde afgifte en orale oplossingen. De perzikkleurige ovale tablet van 0,5 mg is een van de meest voorkomende toedieningsvormen. Bij angststoornissen bij volwassenen wordt doorgaans gestart met 0,25 mg tot 0,5 mg, 2-3 keer per dag ingenomen. De dosis kan geleidelijk worden verhoogd met tussenpozen van 3-4 dagen, tot een maximum van 4 mg per dag, verdeeld over meerdere doses.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">Bij paniekstoornis is de startdosis vaak 0,5 mg driemaal daags, met een verhoging tot maximaal 10 mg per dag indien nodig. Tabletten met verlengde afgifte worden meestal eenmaal daags 's ochtends ingenomen. Oudere pati\u00ebnten of pati\u00ebnten met een verminderde leverfunctie beginnen met een lagere dosis, zoals 0,25 mg 2-3 keer per dag.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">Neem alprazolam met of zonder voedsel in. Tabletten met verlengde afgifte niet fijnmaken of kauwen. Het is belangrijk om de tabletten op een vast tijdstip in te nemen en abrupt stoppen moet worden vermeden om ontwenningsverschijnselen te voorkomen. Volg altijd het doseringsschema van uw arts.<\/p>\n<h3 dir=\"auto\">Mogelijke Bijwerkingen<\/h3>\n<p dir=\"auto\">Veelvoorkomende bijwerkingen van alprazolam 0,5 mg zijn slaperigheid, duizeligheid, vermoeidheid, licht gevoel in het hoofd, verminderde co\u00f6rdinatie en geheugenproblemen. Deze effecten nemen vaak af naarmate het lichaam zich aanpast. Andere mogelijke problemen zijn een droge mond, wazig zien of veranderingen in het libido.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">Ernstige bijwerkingen komen minder vaak voor, maar vereisen onmiddellijke medische aandacht. Deze kunnen bestaan \u200b\u200buit ernstige slaperigheid, ademhalingsproblemen, verwardheid, stemmingswisselingen of paradoxale reacties zoals toegenomen angst of agitatie. Langdurig gebruik verhoogt het risico op tolerantie, lichamelijke afhankelijkheid en ontwenningsverschijnselen bij het stoppen.<\/p>\n<h3 dir=\"auto\">Belangrijke voorzorgsmaatregelen en waarschuwingen<\/h3>\n<p dir=\"auto\">Alprazolam heeft een waarschuwing in een kader over de risico's bij combinatie met opio\u00efden, alcohol of andere centraal zenuwstelselonderdrukkende middelen. Deze combinatie kan leiden tot ernstige sedatie, ademhalingsdepressie, coma of de dood. Het middel heeft een hoog potentieel voor misbruik en verslaving.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">Informe uw arts over eventueel drugsgebruik in het verleden, lever- of nierziekte, ademhalingsproblemen, glaucoom of depressie. Het gebruik ervan wordt over het algemeen afgeraden tijdens de zwangerschap vanwege risico's voor de foetus, en het komt in de moedermelk terecht.
